Do you ever think to yourself: 'Screw harmonics!'? Well, ok, probably not. But let's do it anyway!
Also, there is an LFO section which can be used for rhythmic manipulation of the frequency shifter. Furthermore, there is an envelope follower and in the end a built-in delay effect. For this purpose, I will be using just the frequency shifter, controlled by its the amount parameter and the delay to add a bit more sense of the sound building up.
Frequency shifter will shift all the frequencies in the input signal up or down by a certain amount. This kind of shifting will ruin the harmonic content of the input signal, making it sound dissonant. Mmm... Dissonance...

- Whenever you have your mouse cursor over a snapin there is a small arrow at the top right corner (not visible in screenshot). It opens a settings panel where you handle presets.

- The small checkbox to the left of the plugin name is a checkbox that bypasses the effect when disabled.

- The bottom right corner of all Kilohearts plugins is a resize handle for scaling the UI to any size. This allows you to get a good view of the controls whatever the screen resolution, and also comes in handy if you need big controls, e.g. when using Frequency Shifter as a real-time effect on a touchscreen monitor during a live set. (This is not available when the snapin is used inside a snapin host.)
Frequency Shifter is a snapin

If you use Wavosaur for mastering / premastering, or signal analysis in a more general way, you need tools for audio analysis : spectrum analyzers, phase analyzers, sonogram.
Wavosaur comes with analyzers, you’ll find them in the ‘tools’ menu, along with oscilloscopes & statistics about the sound file (maximum sample peak, RMS power, average value..).
But you can also use VST plugins (for some people it can be more convenient).

This spectrum analyzer uses FFT to display the signal frequency in real time.
You can freeze the display, and use the mouse to shows dB values / Frequency value
Frequency is displayed in Hz and in musical note.
The Voxengo SPAN analyzer also displays statistics : RMS power, and it features a clipping detection.

Like the previous VST effect, this one can show spectrum of left / right channel or both, has a “hold peak” feature that is interesting, when dealing with EQ level in your mix.
